Since May 2015, the department has a specialized academic council D29.600.02 with the right to accept for consideration and defense of dissertations for the degree of candidate and doctor of sciences in the specialty 14.03.04-pathological physiology (medical sciences). Glazkov EO The Council regularly defends dissertations of scientists not only from our university, but also from all over Ukraine.
Specialized Academic Council D29.600.02 was established in accordance with the order of the Ministry of Education and Science of Ukraine dated 12.05.2015 №528 with the right to accept for consideration and defend dissertations for the degree of doctor (candidate) of medical sciences in specialty 14.03.04 "Pathological Physiology" (medical sciences) .
The department trains specialists of the third (educational-scientific) level of higher education of doctors of philosophy PhD, field of knowledge 22 "Health", specialty 222 "Medicine", professional qualification 14.03.04 - "Pathological physiology".
Employees of the department are working on a study of a complex research topic:
2018-2022 - "Pathogenetic justification for the correction of pathophysiological disorders in the human body under the influence of endogenous and exogenous factors", supervisor - Doctor of Medical Sciences, Associate Professor E.O. Glazkov.
The main direction of scientific work of the department is to study the pathogenetic features of pathophysiological disorders in tissues and organs under the influence of various exogenous and endogenous factors, development of methods of protection against their influence, development of methods of correction and treatment. Optimization of existing methods of treatment and prevention.
Employees of the department take an active part in the work of scientific and practical conferences, plenums and congresses of various levels.
The head of the department is associate professor Glazkov EO, heads the union of pathophysiologists of Luhansk region and is a regular participant of scientific conferences of different levels and congresses of pathophysiologists.
As part of the month of student science at the Department of Normal Physiology and Pathological Physiology are scientific and practical student conferences:

Considerable attention is paid to the training of specialists of the third (educational and scientific) level of higher education of doctors of philosophy PhD, field of knowledge 22 "Health", specialty 222 "Medicine", professional qualification 14.03.04? "Pathological physiology".
In order to improve the quality of professional training of doctors of philosophy PhD concluded a "Cooperation Agreement" with the Institute of Physiology named after OO Bogomolets of the National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine (Kyiv). The practice of inviting the best specialists of the OO Institute of Physiology has been introduced. Worshipers to give lectures to students, graduate students and interns of our university.
The department holds student-postgraduate scientific-practical seminars and conferences.
The Department of Normal Physiology and Pathological Physiology together with Taras Shevchenko Luhansk National University, Bohdan Khmelnytsky Cherkasy National University and Sumy State Pedagogical University named after A.S. Makarenko, organizes the work and holds the All-Ukrainian scientific conference "Current issues of biology and medicine."
Specialists of the department provide counseling and preparation of students for participation in the All-Ukrainian Student Olympiads in the disciplines of the department and the All-Ukrainian competition of student research papers in the fields of knowledge and specialties ("Theoretical Medicine"). The first round of All-Ukrainian student Olympiads in the disciplines of the department is held at the department.
In order to assist in improving the level of scientific training of students, the formation of students' scientific and clinical thinking, which is important for understanding complex physiological processes at the cellular, organ levels of the organization, the functioning of physiological systems and for developing creative thinking, increasing internal organization, conscious attitude to training, deepening and consolidation of the knowledge received in the course of training, student scientific circles "Sophos" (physiology) and "Logos" (pathological physiology) function at the department.
