The Department of Pharmacology was founded at the Luhansk State Medical Institute in 1957, where it was headed until 1960 by Doctor of Medical Sciences Yaroslav Borisovich Maksimovich. The department studied the pharmacodynamics of vitamins, in particular nicotinic acid, its effect on tumor growth. From 1961 to 1969 the department was headed by Professor Serhiy Ilarionovych Ordynsky, a student of Academician NP Kravkov. Professor Ordynsky SI prepared 19 candidates of medical sciences, who made a significant contribution to the development of pharmacological science in the Soviet Union.
LUKYANCHUK Viktor Dmytrovych - Honored Worker of Science and Technology of Ukraine, Doctor of Medical Sciences, Professor from January 26, 1989 to February 2015 - Head of the Department of Pharmacology, Luhansk State Medical University.
In 1967 he entered the 1st year of the Sanitary and Hygienic Faculty of the Kyiv Medical Institute, graduating in 1973 and receiving the qualification of "Sanitary Doctor". During his studies at the institute he worked as a paramedic of the toxicological brigade of the Kyiv ambulance station, and in the 6th year - a doctor of the Central Laboratory of the scientific organization of labor of the Ministry of Industry and Trade of the USSR.
After graduating from the institute, he applied for the position of junior researcher at the Laboratory of Experimental Therapy of the All-Union Research Institute of Hygiene and Toxicology of Polymeric and Plastic Pesticides of the Ministry of Health of the USSR, where he worked for 10 years. In 1979 Lukyanchuk VD defended his dissertation for the degree of Candidate of Medical Sciences and in 1983 Victor Dmitrovich passed the competition for the position of senior researcher of the Department of Medical and Biological Research of the Institute of Organic Chemistry of the Academy of Sciences of the USSR and in 1988 defended his dissertation for the degree of Doctor of Medical Sciences. "March 14, 2006 - Toxicology" on the topic "Molecular basis of the mechanism of toxic action and the development of principles of detoxification of dinitrophenolic compounds", in the same year Lukyanchuk VD awarded the academic title of senior researcher. In 2002, Viktor Dmytrovych was awarded the honorary title of Honored Worker of Science and Technology of Ukraine.
Professor VD Lukyanchuk is the author of more than 350 scientific papers and 67 copyright certificates; 8 information letters, co-author of 10 monographs and textbook-reference "Medical Toxicology" (2015) under the seal of the Ministry of Education and Science of Ukraine. He is one of the authors of the drug "Iodidicerin", which is widely used in medical practice.
Professor Lukyanchuk VD is the head of the regional branch of the State Expert Center of the Ministry of Health of Ukraine on pharmacovigilance in Luhansk region, a member of the problem commission "Pharmacology" of the State Institution "Institute of Pharmacology and Toxicology of the National Academy of Medical Sciences of Ukraine". Under the guidance of Professor VD Lukyanchuk 35 candidate and 2 doctoral dissertations were prepared and defended for the degree of candidate of medical, biological and pharmaceutical sciences in the specialty "pharmacology" and "toxicology". Students of Professor VD Today, Lukyanchuk works at various departments of medical and pharmaceutical universities and various medical institutions not only in Ukraine but also abroad.
The main scientific direction of the Department of Pharmacology is connected with the scientific school of Professor VD Lukyanchuk. was devoted to the problem of "Search and study of drugs of metabolic type of action in emergency conditions, the pathogenesis of which is based on hypoxic syndrome.".

History of the Department of Clinical Pharmacology and Pharmacotherapy
The Department of Clinical Pharmacology and Pharmacotherapy was founded in 2002 on the basis of Luhansk Regional Clinical Hospital. The department is specialized for training students of the Faculty of Pharmacy. Doctor of Medical Sciences, Professor Larysa Savchenkova was appointed Head of the Department.
SAVCHENKOVA Larysa Vasylivna, Doctor of Medical Sciences, Professor. After graduating from the Pediatric Faculty of Luhansk Medical Institute in 1989, she studied for two years in graduate school and in 1991 defended her dissertation on "Pharmacological regulation of metabolic processes with combined effects on the body of acute hypoxic hypoxia with hypertension" in specialty 14.03.05 - ". During 1991-1997 she worked at the Department of Pharmacology as an assistant, then - Associate Professor. From 1997 to 1999 she studied for a doctorate. Continuing research in the field of search and development of drugs for the treatment and prevention of pathology of the Donbass region, in 1999 she defended her doctoral dissertation on "Experimental substantiation of drug prevention of confined hypoxia in a heated microclimate." Savchenkova LV - Full member of the All-Ukrainian Association of Pharmacologists of Ukraine, nominee of the national ratings of workers of the pharmaceutical industry of Ukraine "The best scientist of Luhansk region" in 2000 and 2001. Larysa Vasylivna received a diploma from the Ministry of Health of Ukraine and the Luhansk Regional State Administration and the Luhansk Regional Council for her significant personal contribution to the development of health care and high professionalism and on the occasion of the 10th anniversary of the Faculty of Pharmacy in 2008. In 2013, on the occasion of the 15th anniversary of the founding of the Faculty of Pharmacy, she received a Diploma of the Luhansk Regional State Administration. Under the guidance of Professor Savchenko LV Five candidate dissertations for the degree of Candidate of Medical and Pharmaceutical Sciences in the specialty "Pharmacology" and "Clinical Pharmacology" and one master's thesis were prepared and defended.
Also, under her leadership, the term papers and diploma theses of the final year students of the Faculty of Pharmacy are performed and successfully defended annually.
Professor Savchenkova LV author of more than 300 scientific publications, 40 manuals and 20 copyright certificates and patents of Ukraine for inventions. In addition, Savchenkova LV co-author of the textbook "Clinical Pharmacology" for students of medical universities of Ukraine III-IV levels of accreditation and the textbook "Pharmacotherapy" for students of pharmaceutical faculties of universities of Ukraine III-IV levels of accreditation.
According to the results of the competition, the best teachers of the year, which was held by the regional council, Professor Savchenko LV was awarded the Certificate of Honor "Best Teacher" of the State Institution "Luhansk State Medical University" in 2011.
During the years of the department's existence, many-sided work was carried out to create the organizational-methodical and material base of the department. Particular attention in the formation of the algorithm for teaching disciplines at the department was paid to the practical training of students, mastering practical skills, strengthening the links of the department with practical health care institutions.

In 2009, the department took second place in the competition "Best Clinical Departments of 2009".
The clinical activity of the staff of the department is aimed at solving the issues of treatment and prevention of diseases of internal organs, rational and safe pharmacotherapy. New methods of treatment in the form of information letters, rational proposals and inventions are being introduced in the practice of health care of the region, Ukraine of near and far abroad.
On February 2, 2015, the Department of Pharmacology and the Department of Clinical Pharmacology and Pharmacotherapy were merged.
Since September 1, 2015 , Myroslava Volodymyrivna OGLOBLINA, Candidate of Pharmaceutical Sciences, Associate Professor, has been acting Head of the Department of Pharmacology and Clinical Pharmacology.
In 2003 she graduated from the National Pharmaceutical Academy of Ukraine (Kharkiv) with a degree in Pharmacy and qualified as a pharmacist, received a certificate of general pharmacist.
During 2003-2006 she performed research at the Department of Pharmacology of Lugansk State Medical University and in 2006 defended her dissertation for the degree of Candidate of Pharmaceutical Sciences in specialty 14.03.05 - Pharmacology on the topic "Search for means of prevention of cerebral ischemia among antioxidants in a number of thiazole derivatives »In the specialized academic council at the National University of Pharmacy (Kharkov). Since 2004 she has been working at the department, first as an assistant, and since 2011 she has been elected associate professor of the Department of Clinical Pharmacology and Pharmacotherapy of Luhansk State Medical University.
In 2013, Ogloblina MV received the academic title of associate professor of clinical pharmacology and pharmacotherapy.
Ogloblina MV representative of the State Expert Center of the Ministry of Health of Ukraine on pharmacovigilance in Luhansk region. Under her leadership, course and diploma works of final year students of the Faculty of Pharmacy are performed and successfully defended annually.
Author of more than 50 scientific papers, including 9 educational and methodical works and 2 patents of Ukraine for invention.
From September 1, 2017 to December 2018, Natalia Volodymyrivna MELESHCHENKO, Candidate of Medical Sciences , will become the Head of the Department of Pharmacology, Clinical Pharmacology and Clinical Pharmacy . In 2007 she graduated from Luhansk State Medical University with a degree in Medical Affairs. In the same year she entered graduate school, majoring in Pharmacology.
In 2010, under the guidance of Professor Lukyanchuk VD successfully defended her dissertation on "Search for pharmacocorrection of endotoxicosis of post-traumatic origin." From December 2010 she worked as an assistant at the Department of Pharmacology of Luhansk State Medical University. In April 2015, she was transferred to the position of Associate Professor of Pharmacology and Clinical Pharmacology, and in 2018 received the academic title of Associate Professor of Pharmacology, Clinical Pharmacology and Clinical Pharmacy.
He has more than 40 printed works, is fluent in German and English.
Since December 2018, the department is headed by Candidate of Pharmaceutical Sciences AKIMOVA Margarita Sergeevna. In 2009 she graduated from Luhansk State Medical University with a degree in Pharmacy and qualified as a pharmacist, received a certificate of general pharmacist.
During 2011-2014 she studied in full-time graduate school at the Department of Clinical Pharmacology and Pharmacotherapy, Luhansk State Medical University. Under the guidance of Doctor of Medicine, Professor LV Savchenkova successfully defended her dissertation on "Experimental study of stress-protective properties of cryo-crushed powder of chokeberry under hypokinetic stress" in the specialty 14.03.05 - pharmacology.
Since 2012 she has worked as an assistant at the Department of Clinical Pharmacology and Pharmacotherapy of Luhansk State Medical University. Representative of the State Expert Center of the Ministry of Health of Ukraine on pharmacovigilance in Luhansk region.
