In addition to training students, the staff of the department conducted postgraduate education cycles for doctors in training. The leading dental institutions of Lugansk and the region (Krasnodon, Severodonetsk, Krasny Luch, Stakhanov, Rovenky) became the clinical bases of the Department.

In 2014, the social and political situation in the east of Ukraine and the hostilities forced the University to leave Lugansk.
