The Department of Human Anatomy is always responsible for career orientation work throughout the academic year. The lectuares of the Department conduct the following events: Open Day, excursions to the museum of the Department; visiting secondary education institutions, medical colleges of the Lugansk region to disseminate information about the "LSMU" medical school among graduates.
Employees of the Department of Human Anatomy in 2020-2021 took an active part in conducting career guidance work remotely:
- Creation of presentation material (video) on the subject of the Department for applicants. This video clip was posted on the university's website, in social networks: Facebook, Instagram, as well as on the YouTube channel of the Department - "Anatomy of LSMU". Students of the 1st and 2nd courses were involved to distribute the prepared presentation material among 11th grade students, students of medical colleges in social networks, social groups.
- Assistant O. Shapovalova provided informational materials in electronic form to secondary education institutions: Markivska Gymnasium, Lisnopolyansk Primary School, Urzufsk Primary School, Primary School No. 49 of Lugansk, with a request to spread information on social networks for entrants to the "LSMU" Secondary School in Rubizhne.
Employees of the Department of Human Anatomy sent e-mails to the e-mail addresses of secondary education institutions and medical colleges of the Lugansk region with a request to assist in career guidance work.
On May 6, 2021 the Department of Human Anatomy together with the Department of Dentistry of the Lugansk State Medical University conducted a joint career orientation event with the aim of informing students about choosing a profession, providing assistance in professional self-determination.
The leactures provided comprehensive information about the LSMU School of Medicine, where you can master the specialties of "Medicine", "Dentistry" and "Pharmacy", revealed the prospects and advantages of studying at our higher educational institution.
Associate professor Olena Skryabina and the teachers of the Department of Dentistry told the students of the 10-A and 11-A classes of school N16 a lot of interesting information for solving the problem of choosing a profession, demonstrated phantoms and anatomical preparations (some of which were made by students' hands) that are used in the educational process.
Conducting such events is very important for increasing the prestige of medical professions among students.
Career orientation work of the Department of human anatomy
Employees of the Department of Human Anatomy pay attention to all types of planned work. One of the directions of the Department's activity is definitely career guidance work, namely measures to raise awareness of future applicants about studying at the LSMU Medical School and to increase awareness of the professions of doctors and pharmacists.
On January 20, 2022 representatives of the State Establishment "Lugansk State Medical University", consisting of Docent of the Department of Human Anatomy Olena Skryabina, Executive Secretary of the Admissions Commission Oleksandr Yanchevskyi, and third-year student of higher education Yelyzaveta Karpenko held a meeting with 10th-grade students of Kremin Lyceum No. 5 .
Representatives of the "LSMU" educational institution presented presentation materials, provided information on the conditions for admission to our educational institution, prospects and features of education. Information flyers about the University were distributed to students, teachers and parents. Of special interest was the demonstration of anatomical preparations made by the hands of higher education graduates.
Based on feedback from students and their parents, we once again became convinced of the importance of conducting such career guidance events, the plan for which is still far from exhausted.

On 25.01.2022, Associate Professor of the Department of Human Anatomy Olena Skriabina together with the third-year student Yelyzaveta Karpenko met with students of the Kreminna Lyceum No. 2 and students of the Kreminna Medical Professional College. The participants of the event were provided with information on the specialties of a doctor and a pharmacist, the conditions for entering the university, prospects and features of training for higher education students. Pupils, students, and lectures received information flyers about the university, viewed presentation materials, and received all the answers to their questions. Associate Professor Olena Skriabina demonstrated anatomical specimens made by the hands of our university students.
We hope that future applicants will choose the State Establishment "Lugansk State Medical University" for further quality education and rich student life!

On November 18, 2023 an open day was held at the University, which was attended by applicants and their parents. The staff of the Department, together with applicants for education, took an active part in the presentation of the Department of Anatomy and Physiology in order to encourage future applicants for higher education.
In February 2024, the staff of the department, together with 2-3 year students, conducted career guidance work in schools and lyceums in the city of Rivne. Our goal is to share knowledge about the wonderful world of the human body and its functions, as well as about the medical profession, which inspires many young people.
Lectures and students of higher education actively interacted with the students, conducting interesting and informative lectures, demonstrations and practical classes. Our work is aimed at showing how fascinating and important human anatomy and physiology can be for choosing a future profession at Lugansk State Medical University.
