The Department of Internal Medicine No. 1 with a new staff was organized in December 2014 as part of the relocated Luhansk State Medical University. The department's lecturers reorganized the educational process and created new clinical bases, updated the department's documentation.
However, life has made its own changes to the history of the university, and at the same time to the department. Currently, the department is located at the Rivne Regional Clinical Hospital named after Yurii Semeniuk, rooms 113-114.
The staff of the department has also changed. New educational components were added to the teaching, such as:
Infectious diseases and phthisiology
Epidemiology and principles of evidence-based medicine
Clinical immunology and allergology
Occupational pathology
The material and technical base of the department was also updated. The lecturers of the department conduct not only pedagogical but also scientific work. The lecturers are authors of articles published in such international databases as Scopus and WebSience.
The department participates in research work on the topic "Predicting the severity of community-acquired pneumonia in the setting of diabetes mellitus".
The Head of the Department is a member of the Methodological Council of the Faculty of Medicine and Pharmacy and the Chairman of the University's Bioethics Committee.
