100TH ANNIVERSARY OF THE ESTABLISHMENT OF THE LEADING INSTITUTION OF HIGHER PHARMACEUTICAL EDUCATION OF UKRAINE – NATIONAL UNIVERSITY OF PHARMACY
On September 10, 2021, the leading institution of higher pharmaceutical education in Ukraine – the National University of Pharmacy celebrated the 100th anniversary of its founding. Representatives of government offices, administration of Kharkiv region and city, pharmaceutical enterprises, pharmacy chain, information field, self-government, colleagues-educators, university partners from Ukraine and abroad.
The city of Kharkiv is the recognized pharmaceutical capital of Ukraine, where all innovations in the field of pharmacy are introduced for the first time, the top manufacturers of the pharmaceutical sector of the healthcare sector of Ukraine, national pharmacy chains, quality control institutions and research institutions operate. The National University of Pharmacy is a standard of classical pharmaceutical education, the only institution of higher education in the field of pharmacy in Ukraine.
A delegation from State Establishment “Luhansk State Medical University” consisted of: Dean of the Pharmaceutical Faculty, Doctor of Pharmaceutical Sciences, Professor, Honoured Health Worker of Ukraine Oleksandr Hudzenko; Head of the Department of Pharmaceutical Chemistry and Pharmacognosy, Doctor of Biological Sciences, Professor Olena Orlova; Head of the Department of Drug Technology, Organization and Economics of Pharmacy, Candidate of Pharmaceutical Sciences, Associate Professor Nataliia Kucherenko; Deputy Dean of the Pharmaceutical Faculty, Assistant Valeriia Yefremova.
The official ceremony took place at the Premier Palace Hotel Kharkiv. The ceremony began with the performance of the National Anthem of Ukraine by the choir of the National Opera “East Opera” under the direction of Honoured Artist of Ukraine Oleksii Chernikin and a congratulatory letter from the President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyi.
The rector of NUPh Alla Kotvitska greeted the academic community and guests of the holiday. The staff of the university was greeted by: Deputy Head of Kharkiv Regional State Administration Mykhailo Cherniak, First Deputy Head of Kharkiv Regional Council Albert Kononenko, Deputy Mayor of Kharkiv for Health and Social Protection Svitlana Horbunova-Ruban, People’s Deputy of Ukraine Serhii Kuzminykh, First Deputy Minister of Health of Ukraine Oleksandr Komarida, Deputy Secretary of the National Security and Defence Council of Ukraine Oleksii Soloviov, Head of the State Service of Ukraine for Medicines and Drug Control Roman Isaienko, Head of the Northeast Research Centre of the National Academy of Sciences and the Ministry of Education and Science of Ukraine, Academician of the National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine Volodymyr Semynozhenko, Head of the North-eastern Research Centre of the National Academy of Medical Sciences of Ukraine and the Ministry of Health of Ukraine, Laureate of the State Prizes of Ukraine in Science and Technology, Academician of the National Academy of Medical Sciences of Ukraine Oleksandr Bilovol, Chairman of the Kharkiv Regional Committee of the Healthcare Workers’ Union Aliona Blagovishchenska, Chairman of the Board of the All-Ukrainian Chamber of Pharmacy Oleh Klimov, President of the Moroccan Association of Alumni of Ukrainian Universities Raduan Dakhmi, 1990 graduate of the National University of Pharmacy Amine Lakhmiri, Rector of the Tashkent Pharmaceutical Institute, Kamal Rizaiev, MD.
Congratulations to the NUPh came from Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine, the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine, as well as video congratulations from the Rector of the University of Vitolt the Great, Academician Juozas Augutis (Lithuania) and the International Federation of Pharmacists.
During the festivities, the NUPh staff and its individual representatives were awarded honours and the ceremony of awarding the titles “Honorary Doctor of NUPh” and “Employer Scholarships” to the best students, awarding the team “Country Choice”, presentation of the anniversary medal “To the 100th anniversary of NUPh” Bank of Ukraine, special redemption of Own stamp made by Ukrposhta.
As part of the festive events, a scientific-practical conference with international participation “Opening a new century: achievements and prospects” and a scientific-practical seminar “Quality as a tradition” were held.
Festive events also included an exhibition of pharmaceutical manufacturers “Pharmacy unites: partnership through the years”, an exhibition of publications “Pearls of Scientific Heritage of NUPh” (collection of valuable publications), an exhibition of publications “Scientific Schools of NUPh”, an exhibition of scientific and creative achievements of NUPh students. An eco-flashmob “Plant a tree: a symbol of prosperity and spiritual culture of mankind” was also held. The holiday cake was shared among all the guests of the event.
At the end of the celebration, a festive concert of the Prime Orchestra Symphony Orchestra and a pharmaceutical ball took place on the site near the fountain.
After the concert, a grand fireworks display was held.
