Student Scientific Society of the Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology, which is an integral part of the Student Scientific Society. V.G. Koveshnikova State Institution "Luhansk State Medical University" unites students of 4 - 6 courses of the medical faculty who are interested in deepening their knowledge, mastering practical skills and conducting research.
Today, 14 students are permanent members of SSS. The curator of the student scientific society from the department is assistant Kravtsova Yuliia Andriivna
Students-scientists are actively involved in the planned research work of the department “Prevention of obstetric and perinatal complications in high-risk pregnant women (2021 – 2026)”, participate in the All-Ukrainian Olympiad in Obstetrics and Gynaecology, scientific conferences held by leading institutions of higher education in Ukraine.
The main areas of work of SSS are: gynaecological endocrinology (curator – associate professor Korniiets N.H.), operative obstetrics (curator – associate professor Slepichko Yu.M.), antenatal care for pregnant women with obstetric and extragenital pathology (curator – assistant Tertychna S.V.), features of pregnancy, childbirth and the postpartum period, the condition of the newborn in women with coronavirus infection (curator – assistant Kravtsova Yu. A).
From April 18 to 20, the second stage of the All-Ukrainian Olympiad in Obstetrics and Gynecology was held on the basis of Ivano-Frankivsk National Medical University, where students from all medical universities of Ukraine took part. Students, Larin Ruslan (5th year) and Lyashenko Victoria (6th year), having passed the qualifying round "at home", showed themselves worthily in different stages of the Olympiad.
After completing the tasks of the 1st round (solving test tasks and tasks such as "virtual patient") were allowed to demonstrate practical skills in the simulation center. Thanks to the preparatory work of the head of the department of obstetrics and gynecology of the State Medical University "LDMU" Assoc. Korniets NG and Assoc. Slepichko YM, in addition to certificates of "honorary participants of the Olympiad" were awarded personal awards, namely: Lyashenko Victoria - "For the ability to act in emergencies" Larin Ruslan - "For efficiency at the practical stage."
Students are very grateful to the associate professors of obstetrics and gynecology for the level of knowledge, the Rector, prof. І.В. "Annual Young Medical Scientists' Conference 2018"
November 23-25, 2018 at NMU named after OO Bogomolets hosted the International Scientific and Practical Conference of Students and Young Scientists "Annual Young Medical Scientists' Conference 2018".
The conference was attended by 450 participants from Ukraine, foreign students of medical universities in the Caucasus, the Middle East, India, Nigeria, Belarus and Kazakhstan. More than 100 scientific papers and 3 open lectures were presented during the conference.
On behalf of our university, the conference was attended by sixth-year student Andrew Goly, who made a report "The role of the vaginal habitat in determining the clinical scenario of pregnancy in urinary tract infections" Korniets Nellya Hryhorivna) and passed a master class on lymph dissection technique at the National Cancer Institute.

On April 17-19, 2019, the second stage of the All-Ukrainian Student Olympiad in Obstetrics and Gynecology was held in Ivano-Frankivsk. The jury of the Olympiad included Candidate of Medical Sciences, Associate Professor NG Korniets, representatives of Luhansk State Medical University were students Larin R. (6th year) and Ablezgova L. (5th year).

Congratulations to Y.Karpenko, O.Savelyev, and Y.Tsan, graduates of the 5th year of higher education, for achieving the second place at the XXVIII Congress of Students and Young Scientists "Future by Science," held at the I.Horbachevsky Ternopil National Medical University, Ministry of Health of Ukraine. The study titled "Peculiarities of premature childbirth in the conditions of persistent shock of war (data of a retrospective clinical and statistical analysis)" was presented, with scientific supervisor N.G. Korniiets, Associate Professor, M.D, Head of the Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology.
Fourth-year higher education students became winners of the university-wide conference "ProMed." Yelyzaveta Krasnopolska with her scientific report: "Contraception as a factor in preserving women's reproductive health. What is wrong in Ukraine?" and Rostyslav Pryadko with his scientific report: "Artificial abortion and women's reproductive health: how to avoid negative impact (a social survey)."
